Sonic 2 is as much an icon of the generation every of its old school gaming counterparts, and with the newly released iPhone app version of the game, it promises to continue its game world status. All of the original thrills of the game manage to translate well to the smaller, handheld platform, so nostalgic Sonic fans will be pleased without a doubt.
The basic premise remains the same. Players must help Sonic jump, spin and speed through 19 levels and 11 zones to prevent Dr. Eggman (Dr. Robotnik) from overtaking the planet. Sonic’s friend and partner “Tails” accompanies him on the way in this version from the game along with the original. Sonic includes a new super-spin dash move that assists him in blasting through different obstacles because he works to collect rings on the way. Special stages have been added that house timed 3D tube courses, assisting your ring collection while you work to acquire 7 Chaos Emeralds.
